PADI Scuba Instructor Development Courses
Imagine traveling the tropical waters of the world, diving with fun
people in exotic locations, numerous job opportunities and job placement
options. Sounds good doesn't it. Then why not become a Dive Instructor
it is a great career choice if you love to travel and dive.
Come take your PADI Scuba Instructor Development Course or IDC at
one of the top dive resorts in the world: Anthony's Key Resort, a

Roatan.
During the PADI Scuba Instructor Development Course, you'll learn
the PADI System of diver education, standards and procedures, effective
academic teaching presentations, teaching in confined water, conducting
open water training dives and additional related topics. There are
two distinct components to the IDC process - the Assistant Instructor
(AI) course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) course. The
AI course is a minimum of 3 days and the OWSI course is a minimum
of 4 days.
To become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, you must successfully
complete an IE (Instructor Examination). You will be evaluated on
dive theory, academic teaching, confined-water teaching, open-water
teaching and general diving skills and professionalism.
As a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor you can conduct the entire range
of PADI experience programs and PADI diver programs, from Open Water
Diver through Divemaster (except for specialties and PADI Medic First
Aid).
After successfully completing your PADI IDC/OWSI and IE, you receive
a certification card and certificate denoting this rating. You'll
also become a member of PADI and receive benefits, including the ability
to purchase professional liability insurance (which may be required
to conduct some activities).
In addition to AI and OWSI, a full curriculum of continuing instruction
education is available: MSDT, EFR, Dan O2 Instructor, Enriched Air
Instructor, Individual Specialties; IDC Staff Instructor and Status
Updates.

Aldeas Infantiles SOS in La Ceiba

The year 2003 has been a good one for this orphanage in La Ceiba, Honduras.
The number of sponsors has grown to 85 and the number of sponsored children
has grown to 115. The sponsors currently pay $12/month/child, and they
send 3 gifts per year (Birthdays, Children's Day and Christmas).These
gifts and the exchange of letters, provide an essential contact between

An Experience Not Soon Forgotten

When I first got to Copan Ruinas, Honduras, I was absolutely terrified.
I kept on thinking: "What have I done? What was I thinking going
so far away from home?". Well, the answer to that is simple. I
wanted to speak Spanish fluently. What better way to do that, than to
immerse yourself in the Latin culture of Honduras for two months. I
had no choice but to learn to communicate in Spanish here, and luckily
my fears soon passed once I was introduced to my host mom...
