There is also a dive shop in Puerto Cortes that goes out around there but better than that, takes trips up to Belize which is around an hour or so away by boat. Great diving up there in the southern keys.

I teach at a school in San Pedro and our VP runs PADI OW classes for students and teachers. I help out as DM. He fills his tanks at the fire station for a small fee.

Hotel Playa in Puerto Cortez (www.hotelplaya.hn) I believe has a diveship
now. One of the owners/instructors is Roberto Alvarez
(ralvarez.....hn). I believe he will at some point open a shop in
La Ceiba. I believe there is another dive shop at the Hotel Paris.

Please keep in mind that what I am saying regarding La Ceiba is very much
second hand. I just remember seeing the info on some list somewhere. I'm
sure someone who lives in La Ceiba will chime in!

    Cieba/Tela)
I'm going to be spending quite a bit of time in Honduras next year and
may not always be able to make it to the islands for diving. I've
heard rumors of a dive op opening in La Cieba. Anyone have info on
this or any other opportunities? Another question: if I bring my
cylinders, will I be able to get clean fills somewhere mainland?

    Thanks,
    Tommy
