I've flown in to and out of the La Ceiba airport in excess of fifty
occasions and it is very seldom closed on account of weather.
As Kent noted, during very heavy rains the aiport will close, but given
the relatively small craft that most of the airlines fly out of La
Ceiba you really want it to be. I'd much rather miss a connection than
be stuck in the side of a mountain or be fishfood.
Though I do miss the informality of the old airport the new facility is
top notch.
