Picking the wrong lane... YES.. each time I go to SPS from the US, there is always one or two people in GOOD physical condition... take the wheel chair and then get in the handicapkped lane to go thru customs.. It makes me disgusted but they are local individuals and can easily talk their way thru.... and quickly

Last June i travelled to Washington DC via Miami, and I had to go thru inmigration and customs in Miami (meaning i had to pick my bags from the carrousel), then gave my bags back to an airline rep after passing customs so they could put them in the plane again.
I think last June / July they were starting to use a new immigration system in SPS, similar to the one in use now in in US airports, with the camera and the fingerprint scanner. I imagine the system change could account for the delay. Well that and picking the wrong lane.

Allow plenty of time for that. Last July the customs/immigration took two hours to process less than 300 people on one airline (I know I never pick the right lane) and I missed my planned Hedman bus connection to La Ceiba but made it to La Ceiba about 9pm. It is dark at that time with minimal street lighting. The taxis will be overpriced but take one. > > Larry > > Wilfredo Munguia wrote: > Airport in La Ceiba???
