I haven't seen this (yet) in any postings - or perhaps I missed it, but even if you fly to La Ceiba you must go through customs/immigration in SPS. Allow plenty of time for that. Last July the customs/immigration took two hours to process less than 300 people on one airline (I know I never pick the right lane) and I missed my planned Hedman bus connection to La Ceiba but made it to La Ceiba about 9pm. It is dark at that time with minimal street lighting. The taxis will be overpriced but take one.
