Dear Mr. Funes,
Good evening. My wife, a native of Honduras, and I travel often to our home in San Pedro Sula
from San Francisco. We live near the Oakland Airport (OAK) in the San Francisco East Bay Area and
would like very much to have Taca establish direct service between Oakland and Honduras,
preferably at La Mesa Airport, San Pedro Sula.
As an alternative suggestion, there are times when we take the early morning plane to the San
Salvador hub there are two planes flying the same route. Perhaps instead of having two aircraft
fly from the same San Francisco airport, one plane could fly from Oakland. I know there are many
Latin Americans and others living in the East Bay who would prefer to fly to Central America from
Oakland. Expenses such as landing fees and other costs that airlines pay to airports would more
than likely be less at Oakland than at San Francisco. Lower costs could result in lower airfares,
thus attracting even more travelers.
