Lots of moisture in the Caribbean. We in now in the month of November - characteristically the rainiest month of the year on the north coast. Cold fronts have already begun moving south and we experienced the 1st at the time of the Hurricane Beta scare. There is another approaching cold front in the Gulf of Mexico and a tropical wave moving west toward Central America. I remember Honduran winters in the 70s when it rained nearly nonstop for 2 weeks at a time. The good news is that cold fronts will warm up the sea surface temperatures, reducing the chance of tropical storm/hurricane development.
Current rainfall is explained below. It may lessen as the week wears on, but this will depend on what happens with the cold front in the Gulf and the tropical wave to the east (see attachment).
Saludos, Dave
AN UPPER HIGH IN THE WESTERN CARIBBEAN NEAR 16N82W AND AN UPPER LOW IN THE EASTERN CARIBBEAN NEAR 14N74W CONTINUE TO DOMINATE THE SITUATION ACROSS THE CARIBBEAN THIS MORNING. DIFFLUENCE BETWEEN THESE UPPER FEATURES AND THE ABUNDANCE OF TROPICAL MOISTURE ARE GENERATING CLUSTERS OF SCATTERED MODERATE/ISOLATED STRONG CONVECTION (rainfall) SOUTH OF 19N TO OVER CENTRAL AMERICA FROM 78W-87W (this includes the north coast of Honduras).
MOISTURE WILL REMAIN ACROSS THE CARIBBEAN FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK.
