Good morning all, According to the new forecast track Hurricane Beta will NOT enter Honduran territory, but rather it has taken a southwest track which will have it crossing Nicaragua and entering the Pacific by tomorrow noon. It is currently a Category 3 hurricane, and the eye is just now crossing the Nicaraguan coast. Since it is a small, compact hurricane, its zone of influence will be limited compared to larger hurricanes that we have seen so far this year in a very active record year. There are still 30 days left in the 2005 Atlantic basin hurricane season. Rain bands from the hurricane are bringing rain to La Ceiba, but this activity will diminish as the hurricane is downgraded to a low pressure system over Nicaraguan territory.
