Hi Jeff, Sounds like fun! I have gone back and forth from Tegus to San Salvador. I think that is about the only way to go (SPS is a long way from the Salvadoran border). It is only about a 4 hour trip if I remember correctly, depending on the border crossing. I think that a border crossing in a bus is a pretty fun experience, the first time at least. I also like to hang out in San Salvador. There is a really cool Japanese hotel with a great restaurant downstairs, although there are many hotel choices. I didn't travel with Hedman-Alas, I went on a bus company called King Quality, but there are several first class buses that all have basically the same service, from Tegucigalpa to San Salvador and vice versa. There is one big bus station in San Salvador and most of the first class buses go through there, so it makes a pretty convenient "hub" for cruising around the region in buses. There is even a hotel inside the bus station, and lots of money changers, food for sale, freaky people from all over the world getting on and off of buses. Wow, sounds like fun, wish I could go! Like I said, I don't think there is any service direct to San Pedro, but I could be wrong. If you come through Tegucigalpa, give me a shout :):):) there are quite a few interesting things to see here too. Regards, Melanie "Jeffrey S. Levine" wrote:
Hello,
I was thinking of adding some diversity to my next trip to Roatan and would like to get some feedback.
I am considering flying to San Salvador and then taking the bus from San Salvador to San Pedro Sula, spending a day or two in SPS, then taking the bus to La Ceiba, spending a day or two, and then taking the ferry to Coxen Hole.
I am not concerned about the Honduras part of this but am wondering if anyone on the list has taken the bus from San Salvador to SAP before. To me it sounds interesting but I'd like to get some input from someone who has done it.
Best,
Jeff Levine
