Hi Charlie, Thanks for the email. I am going to check out that web site you gave me. I have been reading up on Honduras and the capital where I will be living, so any info. at this point will be helpful. Is La Cieba on the northern coast? Thanks again, Callie "Charles R. Sorry to be so late with the relpy.
You will find a good deal of information concerning Tegucigalpa in Honduras Tips Magazine (on line at http://www.honduras.com/hondurastips/).
This is generally a travel guide but will give you a general feel for the area and what's around.
I have found Hondurans, when treated with respect, are by and large very nice people. In Tegucigalpa you will find a good number of floks that speak English (more so than in the countryside) and this helps but the more Spanish you know the better you will get along and around.
Do be ready for more than a bit of culture shock.
Have fun.
