Greetings! Good to have a forum like this. My wife and I will be
traveling to Roatan the first week of August. We will be staying at
the Bay Islands Beach Resort. We met their people at the Beneath
the Sea convention in March. They were enthusiastic and NOT pushy,
not to mention the place looked nice and we read good reports in
Rodales Scuba Diving. I have been looking for more reports on the
resort and the Island. I was hoping there would be a forum like the
one for Bonaire, but I haven't come up with anything across. The
best resource was "Undercurrent" but even that was vague. I have
already browsed all the Roatan Forums and have not found anything
that could be complete or objective (such as trip reports), so I was
wondering if anyone has stayed there. I will be diving Nitrox and
my wife will come on the boat to snorkel (she does not dive). I
would love to hear from your experiences. We will try the cactus
juice again (although it failed in North Carolina), but we will also
have DEET as a back-up. I've been reading the posts of Linda
McDonald and I wonder if there's anyone near the BIBR who sells your
products. Trying to avoid DEET as much as we can. Thank you for
