Hi everyone,
We have been working voluntarily with a lot of youth here in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, for the last four years, but now we have to move to another part of Latin America. We remember the "pioneering days" - the stress and hard work of setting this place up so beautifully and safely for ourselves and our many guests, so we hate to part with it, but we just can't move our whole home with us - as much as we would like to! While we would like to say 'free to a good home', we really believe it will still be a great value sale for others who will love this home as much as we do.
Over the last four years we have set up this house, re-constructed (new homes here usually come with defective wiring, piping, and cheap fixtures), and we carefully refurbished it and designed the interiors completely as well as built on to create a 3 level mezzanine, all to make it a perfectly functioning, secure and beautiful oasis.
The home is in a secure gated community with 24 hour armed guards, just 3 minutes from the airport (but without all the noise of planes). The gorgeous town house is two and half levels, with 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and two office spaces, and lots of storage spaces, a small private third floor terrace with great views, laundry area, pila (traditional tub in Honduras), two cisterns ensuring year round water supply, a small private rooftop terraza, and a small back patio grassed area/garden with hammock space. The guarded complex also has BBQ, Gazebo, and lots grassed area.
We are offering the home with ALL the major appliances (close to new), great beds, TVs, Exercise Machines, Wireless Internet setup, beautiful decorations of plants, pots, and carved paintings etc. A complete package at a great price.
Real estate agents here have told us that it's a good value market price and will be most attractive to foreigners coming to Honduras or offshore Hondurans who are planning on returning to retire but expect something much safer and better than most properties on offer in the capital. Friends have told us the right people for this home will be people like us - a foreign family, couple/s, an organization, a ministry, needing a place they can just move in and start using for living and small administration/office space, and room for international guests or even small teams.
The location is great. It's so safe and very conveniently close to highways north and south, the city ring highway (el anillo), the banks, numerous new restaurants and new malls.

Thanks everyone for helping us get the word out, as we prepare to wrap up our volunteer work here and finally say farewell to Honduras this summer.
