Not sure vis would be the problem off Tela. Just nothing much to see and no dive services.
Vis is almost always 70+ seaward of the wall. Most of the time and most of the sites have almost no current...nothing like the fast drift diving off the walls of Belize and Cozamel. Creature life is similar IMHO. Utila is less dived. Roatan's western sites are healing since the West End/Sandy Bay Park has gained respect and wide acceptance. I haven't had the chance to dive Granaja or Cayos Cochinos...yet ;~).
I'll be putting an album of uw images on one of my sites soon. Keep in touch and you'll be able to judge for yourself.
Take only pictures...leave only bubbles... Deborah

But I should have figured just like any other place I have ever been diving you need decent current to have good vis. Belize, caymans, bonaire, etc all have great vis and were away from mainlands as would be the islands of hondo. 100+ hour's, eh? Cool, I'm envious. Perhaps you can tell me then how is the marine life and quality of the reefs on the islands. A good buddy of mine told me the waters are over fished and that I would be dissappointed and that when he was there the vis wasnt even that good. Please give me you'r imput and you'r advice on where the best all around island would be. Do you live there? Thanks in advance. Randy(indiana) > > Deborah wrote: Scuba? Tela?
