Hello All,
I'm looking for a responsible person or two to stay in my cottage in West End for expenses only. It's a small house (800 square feet)--perfect for one or two people. It has two bedrooms; two baths--one on each level. Upstairs bedroom has a California king bed and downstairs has a double bed. Air conditioning on both levels. Perfect for business manager; two workers; couple trying out Roatan for retirement possibility, etc.
The "rent" is to cover expenses only. The house has internet ($75 per month) and cable TV ($35 per month). These two expenses are optional.
The neighborhood also has a very large community pool about 600 feet down the hill from the cottage and there's a cut in the reef straight out from the beach at the bottom of the hill. The cottage has an outdoor shower with hot and cold water; fabulous views as far as Utila; and gorgeous sunsets. It's close to town... close to restaurants, shops and hot spots. I've managed without a car for 3 years--but if you have one, we have a large driveway for off-road parking.
Okay, the downside: 7 am to 4 pm construction noise M-F and 7 am - noon on Sat. Sat at noon until 7am Monday is usually very peaceful. Translation: It's best if you work or play outside the house during the day. Also, insulation between the floors, although we paid for extra, is NOT good.
Expenses include weekly cleaner and twice a week gardener--mandatory. There are also community fees, water, electricity, propane for cooking, homeowners insurance, property taxes, etc. to pay. I will itemize all expenses for interested and suitable persons. The most important thing to me is to keep the house and grounds in excellent condition. I'm not looking to make any money on it at this time.
There's also the possibility of taking care of 2 cats for part of the time--until I am able to get them to NY.
Interior and exterior photos are available; and a time to see the cottage can be arranged with the people staying there now. Availability is Sept 1.
About me: I am in NY for family reasons. I love my home and believe that we should all leave anyplace we live BETTER than the way we find it. So that is my request of caretakers.
