SPS has more airlines and more schedules available. This means more
competition , thus lower prices.
Tegus having a more complicated runway has less flights and so higher
prices. It's rare to find cheap airfare at this time of the year to Tegus.
Take the following into account, Tegus's airport is right in the city, SPS
airport is several miles away from the city and the bus terminals. So if you
come into SPS you will have to pay a cab to take you to the bus terminal and
from there take your bus to Tegus. If I were your husband I would be more
concerned with the cab form SPS to the bus terminal, since it's a ride from
the Airport thru desolate areas into SPS city itself. The first-class buses
from SPS to Tegus are about $20 one-way and they are very safe and
comfortable. Ride takes about 4 hours.
So if you consider the cab fare from SPS airport to bus terminal (anyone
have it? ) plus the bus ticket and the 4 hour ride you can get a better idea
if you wish to fly to SPS or to Tegus.
