Kim -
Your probably got all the info. you needded from the folks at Oak Bay and forgive any repitition.
> At the San Pedro airport is it possible to walk up to an airline counter and book 3 seats on a one way to Roatan for same day travel? Yes, or you may book in advance if you like. Your choices are Islena Air, Atlantic Air and Sosa Air. Everyone has virtually the same prices and speak enough English. Islena has a web site where you can book on-line at local prices and print out your tickets, its the only internet posted schedule that I'm aware of. You'll find them linked on our web site (below} Maps,Links page.
> To visit Honduras we should have Hepetitis A/B and a course of anti- malarial medicine? I'm going to be a bit more conservative on this one. Hep A is a definite yes. Hep B only if you plan on sharing bodily fluids. Malaria is present here in Honduras but is a slight risk in the Bay Islands. Better safe than sorry, and perhaps consider typhoid and tetnus boosters.
> Ideas or suggestions. You'll find a couple of good local tour guides listed at our web site Friends in La Ceiba page for your post island adventures if you wish to explore a bit more your post island part of ypur visit. Other good resources are Honduras Tips Magazine {you'll find them linked as well on our Maps, Links page}, Travel-to- Honduras.com and Roatanet.com.
