Mrs. La Gringa, Thank you for the response and also for pointing out the key points... It's nice to hear from you (La Gringa Blogicito), I recieve your post daily and your doing a great job! Here are some of the things that I'm concern about: * Small one room apartment (singles apartment) near the main boulevard * Extented stay hotel is o.k. * Cost of utilities ... lights, water, and cable * Best place to eat and buy food. * Exchanging money and using a visa debit card for cash at the local bank. I would like to stay there for 9 mos out the year and return back to the USA periodically to handle personal affairs. Alot of things I can buy once I'm there, I just need to know where to go in shop.. things has changed alot since my last visit. I had friends there some years back, but I don't know where their located at this time. Thanks you Friends, Rodney La Gringa wrote: Rodney,
Welcome to our group. Sorry you didn't get an answer to your question, but maybe if you could ask again with some more specifics. Will you be buying or renting a house or apartment? Are you bringing family? Any children in school? Will you have a car or use public transportation? Do you want to live like an American or a local? You can see that this isn't an easy question to answer, although just in general, you'll probably find the cost of living much less than in the US. Luxuries such as TV's, computers, cars and gas may cost a little more.
I've been working on a list of prices for some random things that I see advertised in the newspaper. Give me a day or two and I'll be posting that. It may give you an idea of what things cost here.
