Rodney Here is some fast information I received from ex-pats. When visiting, I've found it very reliable in what I've discovered as I've gone along. Hope it helps. Renting (or buying) right on the beach is going to drive prices right up. Live a bit away, I found a very good three bed/2 bath house for USD$250/month. Smaller places further away from the beach are cheaper, of course. Electricity (from the home I described above) runs about $30-$50 per month. Water is cheap. Gas for cooking is cheap. Food is the great variable. While local food is cheap, buying imported foods is expensive. From my calculations, you could easily live on $1,000 per month without owning a car. Cars are expensive to buy. Gasoline is expensive. Now maybe someone who has already made the move, will step up and answer better. I have a friend who lives on $10,000 per year, but I suspect she relies heavily on her partner. He has far more money that she does. Larry G ----------- Looking for a deal?
