You don't need to go with a tour operator. You simply call Cuero y Salado
at 440-1990 and let them know when you want to come.

They have a website with additional information: www.cueroysalado.org

Additionally, how do I contact the Cuerro y Salado Refuge to notify them I
    will be visiting?

    >>> Perhaps someone will know more about this, but it is my understanding
you can only visit Cuero y Salado Refuge

by making arrangements with a tour company (such as Garifuna Tours (Tela)
or Omega Tours (LaCeiba) and there are others).

When we visited we made arrangements with a company (Euro-Honduras (Owned by
the Seibt family. Anaite Seibt ran the

travel business and her parents, Dr. & Sra. Seibt operated Tesla's Guest
House (near the Ex-pat's Bar). The travel office was

located in LaCeiba at the Edificio Hospital Centro Medico, Primeria Calle
Este)). I am not sure they are still in business.

We stayed at the Guest House several times and enjoyed our stay very much.
Perhaps someone in La Ceiba would know more.

I have also visited Punta Sal, the Garifuna village at Miami, and Micos
Lagoon with Garifuna Tours. I booked with them via

the internet and was impressed with their guides and their services. Punta
Sal was a day well spent.

    Garifuna Tours (http://www.garifuna
    tours.com)

    Omega Tours (http://www.omegatou
    rs.hn/start.htm)

    Enjoy your visit.
