You can use a cingular phone, BUT ONLY IF YOU HAVE IT
    UNLOCKED before you go,
Cingular will not unlock it so you will need to find
an independent to unlock it for you. Cost about $
20.00 to get it prepared to change phone companies buy
unlocking it. We also have cingular service in Texas,
and found that IF You have the phone UNLOCKED, when
you get to Honduras, you can BUY A SIM CARD ( about
$5.00 USD)AND PREPAID MINUTES from a local company
there and be free of Cingular, BUT PHONE MUST BE
    UNLOCKED>
Switch sim cards, and switch back when you get to US.

The phone comes from factory unlocked, but Cingular
and some other companies will lock it on to THEIR
SERVICE, so you are stuck with their service and
roaming fees....Get it Unlocked, We do it all the
time, and we originally purchased another phone to use
only in Honduras, but found we did not need to.
    Good luck,
