Hi Guys I just got bacl from Roatan. Lots of bugs and they love me too! But..... I used a product called Cactus Juice. It worked great and it doesn't harm the environment. The reefs are so fragile, I thought I would try and do my part while I was there.
Sandy Hi Min, Hi Randy
I agree about bringing repellent with you. It is also a good idea to have the sunscreen/repellent. I spent ten days in Tela and did not use any stuff. I think all the other seasons, summer, fall, winter are worse when it comes to mosquitos. Unfortunately I did not have time while I was in Tela to go to Lancetilla Botanical Gardens, Punta Sal, Punta Izopo or any of the other wooded and humid areas. It is quite possible that the mosquitos are hiding out there. In town and on the beach I go repellent free. Sabine
From: randy stock Hi Min Lin. I know this was addressed to Sabine but I thought I could give you my opinion. I would use deep woods off or another brand with as much deet in it as you can find. From what I have experienced and read that works the best. Plus I believe it would be easier to get here and possibly cheaper. Hope this helps. Randy(indiana)
Hi Sabine,
Since you just left Tela last Saturday, I'd like to know if there's lots of mosquitoes, especially in the jungle? I've also heard about sand fleas, how can I avoid them? What kind of insect repellent is better?
Thank you, Min Lin
