Thanks ken,
Tela is certainly not La Ceiba, which is in fact the third largest city in Honduras. It's a small town. And, yes I am still looking for the reef out in the bay. I have snorkled off Puntas Sal ( Jeanette Kawas National Park) and there is the reef. Unfortunately it doesn't compare with the parts around the bay islands. Turbidity is also an issue in the bay, particularly in the afternoon, when the winds start up. But the bay is always good for swimming with wild dolphins. They are out there every day, just 10 days ago I got as close as 10 meters to a small pod.
