As far as rental cars Hertz in Honduras is not the same Hertz u know and
love...EVERY time I have rented in Tegoose or SPS the internet rental agency
that I used to reserve the car (various) didn't have a car for me when I
physically arrived, but pointed me in the direction of another agency who
did and who honored the price. The prices are about 35/day plus some
insurance which you MUST get. Certainly use your AX in case anything
happens. Make sure the registration and rental agreement are in the car
with you at all times, as well as you license. Often they give you the car
with zero gas in it so u have to fill it. They only require u to fill it to
where it was...All in all it works ok and the people are nice and helpful.
Make sure there is a usable spare tire with you before u go...

Hi Carla, The closest place to the Airport is a Microtel. The only time I
had to spend the night like you are, I look hard but ended up there. I
shouldn't have looked so hard. It was very clean, very nice, just like one
in the States. There is nothing else close to the airport. Reasonable rates,
too for what you need.
