There is official papers to fill out at borders. You need a report from
the police to show your car is not stolen at the Texas border when
going transito. That is crossing Mexico and exiting in the South. It
takes an hour or more to cross each border. AAA has info on this as
well. It can change. I am sure a web seach would bring up the required
papers. You will need proof of owenership, a title.
