    Hi,

Try going to http://www.honduranlaw.com/ for information about
residency in Honduras. There are several forms of residency each with
different requirements. Application for residency require the services
of a Honduran Attorney. Employment rights are complicated and probably
best answered by an attorney. There is a great demand for English
speaking teachers in parts of Honduras and probably fairly easy to get
legal permission to work as teacher.

Transportation of pets from US and other countries is possible and has
been extensively discussed in this forum. You can find the
discussion/information in the archives of travel-to-honduras.....com.

The army in Honduras is very present and unlike North America, can be
used as an adjunct to the local police force and other domestic
enforcement activities. The army is distinguished by their green
camouflage uniforms vs. grey, black, & white camouflage or the police
force. The US military presence remains strong with a large US
air-base near Comayagua that was established when US was supporting the
Contras in the battle against Sandinista communists in Nicaragua and is
now, I have been told, principally involved in drug traffic
    interdiction.
