Everyone,
First I just want to thank everyone for the great responses I got to my
school supplies question. For now I think we're keeping our project
small. We're leaving in just a few days, and we're just trying to tie up a
few loose ends. We leave Thursday, Dec 28th for Honduras and return Jan
9th.
We had done a school supply drive and dental hygiene drive in our local
Mesa, AZ neighborhood, and we'll be taking these supplies with us in our
travels. We also received some money that will be used to purchase more
supplies while we are in Tegucigalpa. The first part of our trip (3-4 days)
will be spent working with organizations there, so we should have decent
access to stores.
I had metnioned that we were also wanting to donate Spanish children's
books to several orphanages and schools. We were originally going to order
a large set through "Scholastic", but it turns out that the books are now on
backorder and would not be able to make it to Honduras in time. Does
anyone know of stores/publishers in Honduras where we would be able to
purchase children's books for a decent price?
