Like Norm, I prefer to fly. Its a half hour of travel vs. three hours on the bus, and I have never had any problems with getting luggage on to the local flights.
The flight is more expensive at $64 one-way but sometimes its the only way out of San Pedro Sula. You can book on-line at http://www.flyislena.com/
The Hedman Alas bus will cost you $13.50 plus the $10 cab fare to get to downtown San Pedro Sula. You'll find them on-line at http://www.hedmanalas.com/index.htm
Enjoy Honduras!
