I have been using my Honduras cell phone in USA on every trip. I bought a Pay-as-you-go chip from T-Mobile and maintain a pay-as-you go phone number by occasionally adding to the balance on the T-Mobile account by credit card or buying a card and entering the code on the card. If you start off with a $100 balance in T-Mobile and top it up from time to time you won;t loose a single minute between visits.
It is easy then to just swap out the chip while you are in the air and presto you have instant service in either country and a separate permanent telephone number in each country with voice mail. Your contacts are stored on each chip so when you get to USA, all of USA phonebook contact you entered from the last trip are immediately available. When you swap back to TIGO on approach to Toncontin you will have immediate access to your Honduras phonebook when you turn on your phone. If you are gone a long time buy an extra TIGO (or CLARO) card before you leave Honduras so you can reactivate your TIGO account upon return to Toncontin and reclaim your TIGO minutes.
If you want you can even access your USA voice mail from Honduras via the myriad of inexpensive options mentioned in this group the past week or two. I don;t know if T-Mobile is best price per minute or reception, but it works just fine for me at about 7 cents a minute in US. (if you buy a bigger chunk of minutes from T-Mobil they give you a lower per minute rate),
