That would be the easiest option. Actually I do the same when travelling to the US. I buy a $10 Tracfone Nokia 1100 with 60 minutes included at a Walmart, Wallgreens, etc, I use it and then give it away to someone there that needs a phone. I'm thinking of getting one with a one-year plan so that I can have an active US cellphone as soon as I step off the airplane in any US city.
