    I think it was HP that came out with a WIFI VOIP device that was also a cellphone. If it detected a WIFI(wireless) network it would route calls thru the internet available, in any other case it would use the regular cellphone service. Not sure if that's what the guy was using.

    If this is a computer based service then again I have heard of
    several options. I have friends here that told me they use a system
    (or Company?) called Packet-8 (sp?) they get unlimited calls to the
    US for $20/mo and discounted calls to everywhere else.
