Things are exciting and moving along nicely as we head into summer.
Property values continue to increase steadily and new home and
development options make finding the right property for your needs
easier than ever. Roatan is ripe to continue to enjoy steady
appreciation as a new legion of American Baby Boomers look to retire
in Central America to avoid the high cost of living back in
traditional retirement areas like Florida.
It is an exciting time for Roatan Life and our customers. We are
expanding and adding a second office in West Bay Mall to better serve
you. This office will provide the same great real estate service you
have known at our current office in Sandy Bay and will be the base for
our new Property Management division.
That’s right after many suggestions from our clients and some careful
planning and research on our side, Roatan Life Real Estate is excited
to announce the start of Roatan Life Property Management and Vacation
Rentals. This additional service division will provide our customers
with the quality property management service they have been
requesting. From a team they can rely on and easily communicate with.
This new division will focus on protecting your asset and if desired
marketing your property as a vacation rental. We will provide
services for all types of properties from condos, duplexes, and
individual homes.

With a new business we needed some additional staff singularly focused
on servicing the property management customer. We assembled a team of
ex-patriots and local islanders that I have personal experience with
to offer a combination of local knowledge and professional business
experience. The result is a team of professionals committed to
providing excellent service and communication to our customers.
Our staff consists of Gene DeMarco who brings years of property,
resort and hotel management in The Cayman Islands and United States.
Gene has been visiting and investing on Roatan for the past 6 years.
One of the things these experiences have taught him is that things
work differently on an island. Gene is here to make certain that not
only are our guests well cared for, but also making sure that your
vacation home is well maintained.
Mike Carter has a strong background in customer service from 10 years
working for the largest retailer, cataloger and internet provider of
dive and water sports equipment. Additionally Mike and his wife own
multiple properties and a rental house on Roatan and know firsthand
the frustration property owners can experience.

background in accounting and real estate. His local knowledge is
invaluable to insure our customer’s needs are met in a timely manner

I am glad to announce that the Roatan Realtors Association and the
Multiple Listing Service are now comprised of 15 offices and the MLS
system is going strong with a new level of cooperation amongst
offices. I am honored to serve as this year's President of the Roatan
Realtors Association. You can find all of the MLS listings by going to

One of the requirements for being a licensed Realtor in the US is
having to keep up with continuing education. This year I had to take
30 hours of con-ed, including the yearly ethics course, with the
Colorado Real Estate Commission which enables me to keep my membership
in the Aspen Board of Realtors and keep active my real estate license
with the company of Morris and Fyrwald Real Estate, Aspen, Colorado.
