I don't know if pricing is the same if the trip starts in the US or in Honduras, but i've watched prices go up and down all the time for flights from Tegus to Miami.
Just Tuesday my sister bought a ticket here to travel that same route the next day (talk about last minute!). She bought it for $485. She had called American airlines the weekend before to get a reservation and was quoted a price of $585 and with a deadline to pay the ticket on Monday, imagine her good surprise when she went after the deadline and got it for $100 less!.
Right now Delta is supposed to be starting flights from Atlanta to San Pedro Sula later this year, that should bring more competition and better schedules. United is partnering with TACA to offer service too. I'm not sure if that last one will offer better rates but at least you could use miles from more sources to get tickets too.
