Does Honduras have a national coat of arms?

Like most Spanish colonies Honduras has a national coat of arms. With independence the use of the coat of arms stopped.

In 1825 the Honduras national coat of arms was established, it represents the countries history and rich natural resources.

The arrows represent the country’s history and desire to defend the Honduran territory from aggressors, the oval represents independence day, the words Republic of Honduras, free, sovereign and independent, can be seen and read.

The triangle represents equality under the law, the trees represent the country’s tropical and mountain forests, the mountains represent the nation’s unique topography, the tools and hammers represent the work undertaken for the nations progress.

The mine gates stand for national mineral richness, fruits and flowers represent the agricultural wealth and diversity, the sun represents the beauty that shines on Honduras and the waves represent the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
